Alex Aiken's blog, started when I was working in Gambia in 2005...

It has been long overdue that I update this, but I'll make a stab at it now.

I should put some of my photos from Mali and Senegal on for starters, and can then gradually catch up to where I am now...

This is starting photo of our group in Bamako : (from R) Megan, Courtney, Outi, Christine, Tak, me and ???mystery italian girl.

This is one of my favourite things that we saw : the mosque at Djenne, made in mudbricks, needing annual resurfacing ! Very organic surfaces.

The early morning ferry crossing to get across the Gambia river. Very full and kind of beautiful in the dawn. Sadly Courtney got her phone pinched when we got off !

Making coffee, Malian style. Approximately 50% sugar, 40% condensed milk and 10% Nescafe. It's got a kick like a mule on steroids...

I think I'll leave it there, this is just to get me back into the habit of writing the blog !
